Northumberland Coast Path Long Distance Walk approx 64 miles
The Northumberland Coast Path is a long-distance walking route, forming part of the International North Sea Route.
Starting at Cresswell, the route takes in the stunning eight-mile sweep of Druridge Bay before passing through Amble, Warkworth and Alnmouth.
Beyond Alnmouth the scenery changes as the route winds through the quiet coastal villages of Boulmer, Craster and Low Newton-by-the-Sea,
passing the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle on the way..
Warkworth Castle and the River Coquet
After the golden sands of Beadnell Bay and its quaint harbour, the trail heads north to the bustling village of Seahouses then onwards across farmland offering superb views of the Farne Islands and Bamburgh Castle. Beyond Bamburgh and Budle Point the route heads inland to Belford and the Kyloe Ridge before picking up St Cuthbert's Way towards Holy Island. At the causeway the Coast Path strikes north through Goswick and along the cliff-top path to the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Most people do choose to complete the walk in 5 days
However some prefer to take longer, enjoying the wealth of historical interest and magnificent scenery en route.
Cresswell to Warkworth - 10.5 miles
Warkworth to Craster - 13 miles
Craster to Seahouses - 10 miles
Seahouses to Belford - 6.5 miles
Belford to Fenwick - 6 miles
Fenwick to Berwick upon Tweed - 12 miles
